The eye is now a little milky and is no longer orb shaped, but more like an egg, with the tapered narrow end pointing out forward.
I love Helix to no end, and his suffering disturbs me deep down.

I would like to request that any of my friends who have any healing ability please take a moment to send some good vibes to Helix. If you get any messages or intuitions, feel free to share them with me.

I have an appointment with the vet next Monday and I'm concerned that he may recommend having the eye removed. I really hope it doesn't come to that.

Thank you in advance for helping Helix and I.

Hello internet people.
In 2009 I have decided to do something a little different for my resolutions.
Rather than do something for the whole year, I am giving up a different bad thing each month of the year. So far, I gave up pot for January, chocolate for February, alcohol for March, and fast food for April. I'm not too sure what I should give up for May, so I thought I'd ask if you nice folks have any suggestions. I'm not a coffee drinker, so that's a bit of a cop out if I choose that.

Any suggestions?

<lj:music>You give love a bad name - The Lost Fingers</lj:music>

So last night I dreamt that all my friends got together dressed as superheroes and had a grand battle royale. It was truly epic.

Last night, driving home at 4am for my new job I saw a lightning storm but didn't get any rain to annoy my driving. Woo fer pretty natural fireworks.

I have a new job. I drive a van from my town to another which is about 100 minutes away. I start at 530pm, load the van full of bags and boxes, drive to Moncton, unload said van, sort some parcels, wait around for an hour, unload a truck, sort some more, wait around for 5 hours (sleeping, sculpting, reading, writing, etc), drive to the airport, load my van full of stuff, drive home, try not to fall asleep, unload van, go home, sleep, repeat.
I'm working 45 hour weeks, with 4 days on, 3 days off. So far I actually quite like it, and it's good to be able to say that this is my second job where I get paid to sleep. (The first was nights at a hotel.)

There are bunnies in the woods behind the building I wait around at in Moncton. The other day I heard somebody playing the bagpipes and followed the sound toward them. I felt like a helpless child hearing the call of the pied piper. The piper was across the highway, however, and I didn't feel like Frogger.

I've been listening to CBC radio on the drive home and last night I heard this ridiculous remake of Billie Jean by The Lost Fingers. If you have 80s nostalgia I'd highly recommend this album. I think you need a demonoid membership to get it. If you want an invite, let me know.

My armpits stink. My right smells a little stronger than my left. :O

My birthweek is this week and I am being properly spoiled. I've scored a scrapload of Futureshop money which I will be using to buy a new big snazzy monitor, plus some chapters money, plus a cool framed pic of me in a thunderstorm at my best friend's wedding, a ninja star!, some CDs, Blockus 4 player, a great Tool (The Band) magazine full of pics and interviews, some strawberry cheesequake ice cream cake (Hmmm, I should go have a piece of that right now.), some cash, and some inflatable jousting thingies that I have battled with and won. My next birthday party is Friday, so I should get a bit more loot then. Yay for me being spoiled. :D

I am not here as often as I once was. I tend to waste too much time on Facebook, so if you're on there, feel free to let me know and I'll add you.

The thoughts that we don't allow ourselves to have during the day come through in the middle of the night. As our carefully constructed identities fade away into the night, our true essence swims up from the dark and murky recesses of our being. All our daily triumphs and struggles bubble up and are relived in fantastic adventures with vibrant imagery.

In one of my recurring dreams I am running, usually downhill, and my feet touch the ground less and less frequently until I'm basically coasting on the air. As I come to the realization that I am hovering, I begin to gain some control and attempt to float up into the air. Soon I am riding the wind. Each time I have this experience in a dream, it seems as though I am remembering an ability I've always had rather than learning a new one.

When I awake, I am confused and disappointed with my earth-bound vessel, knowing that my true self can fly.

So, it's been about a month.
Howdy, y'all.

I got a job the day before I left for Arizona.
I'm a fundraising coordinator for the local campus and community radio station, CHSR.

We have a few fundraising events that I am planning and I send donation letters to local businesses. It's pretty snazzy, but it's only part time and the pay isn't amazing.

So I'm holding financial ruin at arm's length and looking for something else to fill the gaps. I'm doing a bit of tutoring, which I really like. I tutor English and Math, but I prefer Math. Maybe I should look into teaching math. I think I'd like that. All those blank stares from my students as I rapidly explain advanced algorithms and plot n-dimensional space. Good times.

Yeah, so I went to Arizona, but I don't seem to be posting any pictures on here because either I'm a lazy bum or I have too many other distractions. Or both. I did manage to post some pics on my facebook, however so I'm gonna give y'all the link so that you can peruse them.

The lovely intrepidrayne posted some pics on her journal if you'd prefer to see pics without leaving the warm security of LJ. I'm not sure if there are doubles with my facebook ones.

Hmm, what else?

The art group that I'm a member of has an art show up for the month at the Playhouse. It's called Resonance and it's pretty snazzy, so if you're a local or will be in Fredericton this month, go check it out. I've got two pieces in the show. There will be a remote video slideshow thing at the Phoenix on the 15th, so mark that down in your calendars folks and come show yer love.

I have a defective bag of Bits & Bites. It's one of those resealable ones with the ziploc top, but one side of the seal let go of the bag so it is still connected to the other side but the bag is wide open. Lame. I'm going to sue!

I finally got with the times and got myself a PayPal account. So now I can take your money in exchange for a personalized sculpture. I really need to get my shit together and redo my website and start promoting my art more so I can theoretically make some monies. Then I might turn into a real boy.

I need to sort out my userpics. When I lost my paid account, it dropped all the ones I had except the 15 I could keep for a plus account. Eep, I have to cut down from 76 pics. But I have so many I like! Any advice?

So that's what's shaking for yours truly. I hope you all are doing swell.

I'm going to eat turkey today! Yumz.

Hi.

It's been a while, hasn't it? I hope you haven't forgotten me altogether.
I haven't forgotten you. Except maybe you. But we weren't that close anyway.

Once upon a time I used to post on LJ all the time and I would read your witty rhetoric and I would enjoy it. Then, one fateful day I decided that my job wasn't getting me anywhere and I needed a change so I went on vacation to the Cayman's with my little wifey and I took a new job upon my return.

My new job wasn't all it was cracked up to be as those jerks wouldn't let me post random gibberish on the internets while I'm supposed to be working, or even on my breaks unless I bypassed their LAN settings, which they politely asked me not to do. Jerks.

{I am now going to stop correcting my typos, as there are just too many.}

So yeah, I left the hotel to work at a call center as i figured this would give me motivation to get a better job. It worked to some degree as i got a temporary job at a photo studio in town where I was editing pictures of school kids from across the province and a few from the neighbouring one. So I looked at thousands of children and made them look better. I corrected color and contrast and learned photoshop and edited little details into or out of pictures to imporve them.

I think i must have some masochistic tendnacies to intentionally get a ob that I new I wouldn't like just to get me out of the comfort zone I had found at a dead end =place. Maybe it was essential to my survivasl. Who knows?

In any case, I left and call centered it up and I said previously. I started at the call center in May and was out of my mind in discomfort by August. So I desciedexc I would liek to have better job fall into my lap. one night I went to pic up the wifey and a friend of the familyu asked it I was looking for work. I saifd "Yes, I am." The rest is history. So for a wihle I enjoyed altering the iomages of chillins. The only real downside to my new job is that some of my coworkers liked the country music and lplayed it in my presence. fortunately I had an mp3 player and was able to self0-iostracize myself with great success. i listened to much beastie boys and ministry and NIN and tool and gnarles barkley and infected mushroom and loyts of others. They were my salvation.

In any case, I knew that the new job was temporary. I started in September and it was to end by late november or ealry decemebt. there were three people who did what i did and they were layed poff when expected but they thought i was super and kept me on a bit longer./ xcAN U blaim trhem? no. It must have been my superior typing skillz. har har.

{note: I've had a few drinks and I'm standing up typing because it hurts to sit because my tialbone is all messed up due to what happend milliseconds aftet the picture in my last post.}

so yeah, i was a super employee and they wanted to keep me on, but they couldn't tak the hours from another employee with seniority so they laid me off the friday before xmas. so i'm on extended holiday and we're going to arizona on Jan 10 so it is difficult to get a job in the meantime.

xmas was very nice. i got presents and food and love and all that good stuff that i hope you all did. then new years happened and it was excellent. we went to a friends' place and then the larger we went to a different friend's p[ace and chilled for a bit. I saw cool things like men in cagses and skull of beaver. yes.

then the wifey and i went out of town to a differnet5 friends place where there weas a giant bonfire in the freezing cold and fireworks were fired at the time of fun. asome of the fireworks didn't explode so wee threw them in the fire. it was a pretty stupid plan, but it was fun. we got lots of pics and video of when the dud took a long time and exploded just in time for us to let our guar4d fown.

i;'ve been sliding down hills a couple of times recentl;y. the first time i injured my tail bone and it still hurts; i can't sit down. or stand or lay down. it's fun. in december i smoked more of the green devil than i have in a wihle and my lungs were quite unhappy with me. i might have walking pneumonia. woo! i'm off that stuff for at least the month of january, though, so i should be able to recover and bre3athe my mighty bre3aths once again.

now i am unemployed and enjoying the short time off. it makes me ahppy that i was able to establish some savings while i was working.

the time has coem for some deep contemplation of my future. i am thinking about what i really want. i am focusing in on what is important and how i want this dream we call life to unfold. i have definitely come to the conclu7sion t5hat i can do whaterev i put my mind to. now, if only i could pick something to focus on.

i sold a sculpture to the lovely cindyreddeer and that's great. i'm working again on my website and will be redesigning the whole thing in the near future. i'm excited to get the new version up and trunning.

I think that'd enough bad grammar for you nice people.

Maybe I'll edit tjhis tomorrow when I realise how terrible it is. :P

Oh, my paid account has now expired, so I'd like to thank whoever it was that gifted me with it. I figured i would have guessed the person by now, but their anonymity has remained just that.

Much love from my heart to yours,
Mark

Today is the four year wedding anniversary of intrepidrayne and myself.
We are going strong, and we're still damned adorable.

Look:

In other news, there might be hope for humanity.
Today I helped a man. I did not have to.
I went out of my way when I witnessed his suffering.

The street I live on is a fairly steep hill. I saw a disabled man slowly pushing his electronic wheelchair up the hill, using his crutches to push while he sat in it with the seat turned to the side and attempted to steer as he made his slow journey. The battery had died.
I watched for a few moments, fascinated by his plight. A little voice from inside then spoke up.
It said "You're not doing anything important right now. Go help him."
So I did. I descended the four flights of stairs from my apartment on my mostly capable legs and caught up to him. I asked how far he was going. He was maybe going another half mile, so I offered to push him. He gladly accepted and I helped him home.

I am not often a sensitive guy. Usually the only thing that will touch my heart is a random act of extreme kindness or the love of a brother (which I've never had the chance to know personally). Today I was touched by my own kindness. It was a strange feeling.

This weekend intrepidrayne and I took a whirlwind tour around the world.
It's incredible that we managed to cover so much distance, really. It's almost unbelievable, even.

There are pictures in this post from all over the world, so it's going behind a cut.

We started our trip in our area by visiting the small town of St Andrews. It's right by the ocean and we both like it quite a bit.

Next we headed southwest toward Bangor to see what was shaking over there. Not much was shaking.

After seeing how boring Bangor was, we decided to check out a bigger city: Brooklyn.
Brooklyn was cool because we met the Beastie Boys and I wrote a song for them. You will hear it on their next album. If you listen to it. If you don't, you won't.

Even though the three MCs and us MCs hit it off, we needed to be on our way. Next stop, Toronto.

We couldn't leave T.O. without the full experience, so I got shot. Now that's tourism.

The time had come for us to head to a more peaceful area. We had a cravin for the Pacific, so Mel got behind the wheel and bent space and time with her super-driving skillz.

Once we crossed the country, we decided to hit up Victoria, BC, and all its oceany goodness.

Since we were close anyway, we then headed north to Alaska to see pretty white things.

Oops. Man, Alaska was friggin cold. We thought we could warm ourselves by heading down under.

Apparently that wasn't the best plan, as it is winter there and the temperatures were in the single digits. We then decided that we couldn't go wrong with the Caymans again. We headed back to Georgetown.

It was nice and warm, but once again it drained our budget and left us penniless. :(

I'm not one to focus on the bad, so I busted out my hackysack and did some killer Hackmatack action to busk for change from the rich folk.

It didn't work at all, but I saw something shiny and forgot my woes.

Look, it's right down there, I just have to climb down HEEeeeeeeeeeeeerre.

Oops, I fell into the ocean. <lj:music>Eulogy - Tool</lj:music>

Greetings internet people.

Big news in my neck of the woods: We bought a car! Woo!

It's a 2003 4-door VW Golf. It is shiny and red, and it kicks serious butt.
It is comfy and fast and mighty and ... expensive-ish.

We bought it Friday morning from the VW dealership here in town and I've been driving it just about every minute I haven't been at work.

We've been cruising around with big smiles on our faces, and every time I'm unhappy at work I just go to my happy place and imagine myself driving around. Tis fun. On Friday night, I left work on my 15 minute break and drove around for ten minutes to sate my appetite for action.

We've shown it off for many of our friends and family and everybody seems to love it. I've been surprised to learn that the back seats are actually comfortable on a long trip.
We drove to New River Beach on Sunday which is about an hour and a half away with planetpla and mudheadpuddle stuffed in the back and they didn't even cry. It will happily cruise uphill and pass other cars with a full load. Sweet justice!

It's my first car, and I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. Weeeeee~~~!!!

Me and 'my precious'.

intrepidrayne with our new toy.

Here we are together about to be eaten.

I hope you like it.

We have yet to come up with a good name for the car. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In other news, I'm on the computer all day at my new job and my poor eyeballs don't enjoy it. This makes it difficult to read LJ at home, as my eyeballs want to do just about anything but stare at a monitor. I applied for a job at the local university that would hopefully remedy that situation.

I had a dream two nights ago that I was walking along a back trail and saw a tiny snake a second too late. It bit me twice and I grabbed it. When I tried to kill it, it turned into an adorable kitten.

I thought it was strange, but let it go.

Now, I just woke up from a dream where I was in a room with other people that was full of a variety of snakes, including coral snakes. I didn't see any cobras or rattlesnakes.
Anyway, I got attacked again and the snakes turned into deadly, poisonous cats.

I grabbed one and cracked its neck, but it kept trying to get me, unphased. Then I was holding one to kill it and it turned into one of the cats I 'own' in real life. It even had the proper ID tag on its neck. I couldn't kill it.

Any interpretation theories on this dream would be much appreciated.

Now you too can witness the cold-blooded (ha!) fury. I really like the head-bobbing thing.
It reminds me of Quagmire. Nothing says scary violence like Glen Quagmire.

<lj-embed id="2" />

... Insert segue ...

My armor has a chance to shine

In other news, I had the opportunity to wear my full-sized suit of armor in a public setting and not get arrested. There was a fashion show held at Green Turtle Clothing and I got to strut my stuff to planetpla's track "We Are Machines." It was a blast. My suit is deadly and I'm glad I didn't slice anyone with my shoulder blades or trip and fall and draw sweet life-nectar from innocent bystanders.

Mad props to intrepidrayne for helping me get into the armor and to mudheadpuddle for filming (and providing the commentary).

<lj-embed id="3" />

I was also pleased to have not injured myself (much). As you may or may not recall, I injured my ankle in March. Unfortunately it is still causing me grief. I don't have a full range of motion with it and I have to stretch my foot downward to get into the leg of my armor. It was pretty tricky to say the least. I practiced putting my suit on at home earlier in the day and it kinda hurt. Anyway, at the show I got it on (and off) without anything breaking, so hooray for that.

Any good ankle juju is appreciated.

The first part of training will be over this Friday and I'll be moving on to the next phase. So far it seems okay, although it is a fair bit of information to process. Good thing I'm a genius.

So I haven't made a post yet about our awesome vacation in the Cayman Islands. Many apologies.
I want to do it justice and I haven't really had a large block of time to sit and make it happen. So, in the mean time I will provide you with this link to see some pictures from our trip.

Enjoy!

PICTURES!

Also, my lovely wife, intrepidrayne recently posted about our adventure, so go check her journal out for more info while I'm being a lazy bum.
Less than ten hours before our flight to Grand Cayman.
Things are going awesome. We smoked a joint on a balcony. We laughed, we played hackysack. We took pics. It was a good time. We had strange drunk folks show up at 230 and be loud but amusing. Unfortunately they woke up some other guests. But then again, that really isn't my problem anymore, is it? Mwhahaha! Free at last!

I showed them the dungeon. I suspect that the hotel will be shut down soon, so I'm glad to be out of there before it happened to me. Although... EI might have been nice.

I has occurred to me that I never posted pictures of my masterpiece.
I figure that if I don't do it now, I'll forget all about it, so here it is:

This is the top view of Little A'tuin.

This is the front view of Little A'tuin.
